Space Travel
Pioneer 10 - NASA Astronaut and mom, Karen Nyberg, is currently floating in the International Space Station; in May, Chris Hadfield shot his own version of David Bowie's Space Oddity while orbiting the earth; and Voyager 1, a probe launched by NASA in the '70s, is somewhere soaring through interstellar space, having exited the solar system sometime last year. These developments show just how fast technology is progressing. |
Voyager 1 - NASA Relatedly, I'm fascinated by constellations of sequins, spangled fabric, rudimentary drawings of outerspace, and galaxy prints too.

Space fits neatly into the category of futurology or future studies, which preoccupies me in general. It's fun to think about other things in this category too, like the Singularity, a theory that predicts the future of humanity living eternal lives supported by machines.
I've also been reading a lot about robots, Turing tests, and new developments in biotechnology. I wonder if we'll have silver hearts in 40 years. Will superhuman soldiers save us from danger? Has Google already passed the Turing test? But most importantly, how will fashion will be re-imagined in the years to come? If it's anything other than clunky accessories and primary colors,I want nothing to do with it, to be honest.
