Let's face it. Anne of Green Gables was the queen of early 20th century literature. But with her bookworm interests and small-town upbringing, Anne wasn't exactly into fashion.
Or was she?
Here are five looks that reveal Anne's stylish ways, as described by L.M. Montgomery.

Solange: Our Lady of Pastels
Reason #1999090980 why we all love Solange: her ability to revitalize an already strong brand with her pretty point-of-view.
Recently, she was hired to direct Puma's shoe ad campaign, which she has done in a spectacular show of soft oranges, yellows, pinks, and blues. The photos below remind us of summers long gone and sorbet ice cream bars.
Check out the pairing of pastel separates against bare backdrops, which somehow manage to evoke past and present all in an image:

Peter Panned
So you finally caved and bought that button-up shirt with the rounded collar. You're wondering if you should dare wear it out and when, especially because something about it makes you look so.... trendy and youthful.
Don't worry, Peter Pan collars are appropriate for all ages and occasions. This is a fact, actually.
Back in Old Hollywood, all of your favorites wore Peter Pan collars:

Senegalese, Havana, and Kinky Twists
Two strand, licorice-like twists add delicacy to any style. Unlike box braids, twists are usually faster to install and remove; and they look absolutely regal when wrapped around the head or gathered into a bun. Even the type of hair used makes the style unique. Maybe that's why twists are so popular in the dog days of summer.
